Yad Ezra Gains Bequest On The Boardwalk 248-626-7776 Presented by of Cotton Yad Ezra, the Berkley-based kosher food pantry that provides free groceries to the needy, has received a generous bequest from the estate of Herta Kollmann. Kollmann was born in Austria, lived in Trinidad with her husband, Walter, and then West Virginia before moving to Detroit. He died in 1971 and she died last year, leaving a substantial bequest to Yad Ezra; the money has been directed to the organization's endowment fund. Yad Ezra launched its endowment campaign in 1997 to guarantee contin- ued support for the organization. Workmen's Circle Studies Immigration The Workmen's Circle-Arbeter Ring announces "A Gleisele Te" (A Glass of Tea), a new Sunday school program for children ages 5-13. Beginning Sept. 5, this interactive, hands-on, multi-media program will focus on the study of Eastern European Jewish immigration to the United States. Activities appropriate to each age level include producing a version of The Forverts (The Forward) newspaper from the turn of the last century, researching and role-playing Eastern Jewish immi- grants making their way to "the golden land," photography, music, drama, pup- petry, storytelling, dance and Yiddish.
