similar to the one we had for my father I I years ago.
Everything is fine with her three children except for
. her insisting on the service being graveside. Should
we let her know we object, or just take on this issue
when we need your services?

A:

I would leave the discussion until the time
of need. Your mother felt she was giving you a gift.
Praise her and tell her how thoughtful she was to
do this. We can address the location of the service
when the time comes.

Aug. 8, 2003. She was a veracious read-
er and life-long learner. She volunteered
for many organizations, including
Botsford General Hospital, the Literacy
Council and Federation Book Sale. She
rarely missed her weekly mah jongg
game.
Mrs. Sacks is survived by her hus-
band, Jerry Sacks; children, Michael
and Ruth Sacks of Pittsburgh, Pa.,
Lynn and Milton Klein of Sewickley,
Pa., Denise Cook of Ferndale, Fran
Sacks of Westland; Sister and brother-
in-law, Natalie and Irving Baker of

West Bloomfield, died Aug. 11, 2003.
He was a retired dentist: He was also a
member of Adat Shalom Synagogue,
Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, gradu-
ate of the University of Detroit Dental
School and a World War II Army veter-

Dr. Saginaw is survived by his wife,
Sally Saginaw; son and daughter-in-law
David and Paula Saginaw of New
Jersey; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy
and Bruce Hillenberg of Farmington
Hills; grandchildren, Lauren, Jonathan
and Zachary Saginaw, Lindsay and
Jamie Hillenberg; brother and sister-in-
law, Gerald and Judy Saginaw of West
Bloomfield; brothers-in-law and sisters-
in-law, Jerry and Bonnie Joseph, Reva

He was the loving brother of the late

Beach, Fla., died Aug. 11, 2003. He
was a dentist.
Mr. White is survived by his son and

Jones; grandsons, Leo and Max Jones;
sister, Adeline Fixman. He was the
beloved husband of the late Zara

JERRY VOLINSKY, 84, of Syracuse,

N.Y., died Aug. 3, 2003. He was a
partner and baker at Besdin's and
Volinsky's bakery until he retired in
1975. He was a member of the Temple
Society of Concord and a past presi-
dent of the Syracuse Camera Club.
In 1974, Mr. Volinsky was awarded
an associateship in the Photographic
