The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit seeks athletes for
the 2003 Fame Games. The 17th annu-
al West Bloomfield Community Fame
Games will showcase the athletic abili-
ties of children and adults with special
needs on Sept. 7.
Athletes of all ages and abilities are
invited to participate. There is no
charge for this event. Volunteers to help
with the event, sponsors and spectators
are still needed.
The day will include an opening cere-
mony, track and field events, aquatic
events, a special children's medal presen-
tation ceremony and a closing ceremony
followed by an evening dessert recep-
tion.
The event is presented by the
Michigan Jewish Sports Foundation and
sponsored by the Jewish Community
Center, Northwest Child Rescue
Women, West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation and West Bloomfield
Schools Community Education.

Federation Forum
Hosts U-M Head

In a landmark decision of the U.S.

Supreme Court, the University of
Michigan in Ann Arbor won a victory
for the principles of diversity that guide
its admission policies.
Reflecting on the impact of the rul-
ing, Mary Sue Coleman, president of
the University of Michigan, will address
the next Federation Forum Wednesday,
Sept. 3, noon to 1:30 p.m., at the
Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Coleman's topic will be "Diversity on
Campus — Challenges and
Opportunities."
