director. He is a certified public account-
ant and a member of the American

board of directors and executive com-
mittee of the Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit.

Michael Fleischman of Bloomfield
Hills, 18-year-old owner of Cosmos
Computing LLC, has been published in
the international Journal of Quantitative
Linguistics. The research represents the
largest private study ever conducted on
character frequencies in major European
languages. Fleischmann and co-author
Dr. Richard Rosenbaum, will present
their findings in Germany in October at
the Trier Symposium on Quantitative
Linguistics.

Sandra D. Glazier of West Bloomfield
and the law offices of Sandra D. Glazier
PC has been awarded the Oakland
County Bar
Association's
Distinguished Service
Award. She has served
as vice chair and chair
of the Family Court
Committee, is a mem-
ber of the Public
Advisory Committee
on Judicial Candidates, Glazier
is a fellow of the Oakland County Bar
Foundation and has served on its proj-
ects committee. Glazier concentrates her
practice in the areas of family law, pro-
bate and estate planning.

Gold Classic Aids
Cancer Research

The second annual Susan Nucian
Memorial Golf Classic will be held
Monday, Sept. 15, at the Pine Knob
Golf Club in Clarkston. It will benefit
the Nucian Fund for Pancreatic
Research at the University of
Michigan Comprehensive Cancer
Center in Ann Arbor.
The schedule includes a 10 a.m. reg-
istration, 11 a.m. lunch, noon "shot-
gun" start, 5:30 cocktails and 6:30
dinner and awards ceremony. The
individual participation fee of $250 or
$1,000 for a foursome includes lock-
ers, greens fee and cart, lunch on the
course, beverages, the awards dinner
and gift bags; dinner only, $100.
Event co-host Richard Nucian initi-
ated the fund after losing his wife,
Susan, to disease in 2002.
Funds raised will support innovative
basic and clinical research initiatives as
well as programs to assist pancreatic
cancer patients at U-M.
