PLUM PIE
Parve
Nana Belle is of Hungarian stock. I eat
plum cake and imagine her parents
savoring its fruity richness.
1/2 cup parve margarine
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 t. almond extract
1 t. baking powder
1 cup flour
1/2 t. salt
15 Italian plums
2 T sugar
1 t. cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream margarine and 1/2 cup sugar
until fluffy. Add eggs and almond
extract. Beat well. Sift together baking
powder, flour and salt. Add to batter
and mix well. Pour into greased 10-inch
pie pan. Cut plums in half Mix in bowl
with remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and
cinnamon. Arrange plums over the bat-
ter, skin side down.
Bake 50 to 60 minutes. Yield: 8 serv-
ings

'Where We Eat

KC2go celebrated its re-grand
MP opening with an expanded

menu. Now serving everything from
burger, ribs, hot dogs and fried
chicken to Chinese lo mein, sweet
and sour chicken and pepper steak,
BKC2go should please just about
everyone.
We waited until Lag &Omer to
expand the menu," said Chaim
Goldgrab, owner.
BKC, which stands for B'Tayavon
(Hebrew for bon appetit) Kosher
Catering, is the name of the Mr.
Goldgrab's catering business. Under
kosher supervision of the Council of
Orthodox Rabbis of Greater
Detroit, BKC2go had been open
with a limited menu since mid-
March.
BKC2go is located at 15280
Lincoln, just east of Greenfield in
Oak Park. Hours for sit-down and
carryout dining are Sunday-
Thursday, noon-9 p.m. Orders can
be called in to (248) 967-5445, or
