The Jewish Home & Aging Services
will offer a caregiver support group
the second Tuesday of every month at
7 p.m. at Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield.
Any adult involved in caring for a
parent, spouse or relative, whether at
home or in a facility, may attend. The
next meeting will be Tuesday, Aug.
12.
The group, led by Mindi Silver-
Weiss, is free, a gift to the community
from Pearlena and Dr. Jason Bodzin
of Southfield.
A self-led support group meets the
fourth Tuesday of the month.

David-Horodoker
Honors Memories

The David-Horodoker Organization
will host a program to honor the
memories of family and friends who
perished in the Holocaust. The pro-
gram will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday,
Aug. 14, at the Holocaust Memorial
Center's new location, 28123 Orchard
Lake Road, Farmington Hills.
A service prepared by Kathy
Winston will be presented along with
Yizkor prayers. The program book,
listing the names of those who per-
ished, will be presented to attendees.

The Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit has hired David Vanderhoff
for the high school's college counsel-
ing office. He will work with John
Boshoven.
Vanderhoff joins JAMD after a long
career as a teacher and counselor at
West Bloomfield High School. He
retired in 2002 and works as an
adjunct counselor at Oakland
Community College.
He has served on the executive
board of the Michigan Association of
College Admissions Counselors and
was the Michigan delegate to the
National Association of College
Admissions Counselors.
