Debbie and Mickey Stern Debbie and Mickey Stern will receive the Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award of the American Red Magen David for Israel at the Michigan Region's annual dinner dance 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. Proceeds from this year's dinner will be used toward a room in honor of the Sterns at the Emergency Medical Center in Ashdod and medical emergency equipment for the Natalie and Manny Charach Magen David Adorn Emergency Medical Center, also in Ashdod. Magen David Adorn is Israel's national emergency medical, blood and ambulance service. Mrs. Stern serves on the Hillel of Metropolitan Detroit noard,the Hillel board at Michigan State University, the International Board of Directors of B'nai B'rith Youth, the Detroit Regional Board of Governors of B'nai B'rith and the board of Washington University, St. Louis. Locally, the Sterns are supportive of Yeshiva Gedolah and Yeshivat Darchei Torah and give several scholarships to Yeshiva Beth Yehudah. They made a contribution to Young Israel of Greater Buffalo to enable the burning of the mortgage. The Sterns have been honored by Jewish Women International for giv- ing a classroom in their children's home in Jerusalem. Judith Grant Granader will be the dinner chair and Dr. Margo Y.
