Steven Migliore of Farmington Hills
received an Outstanding Senior
Award from Michigan State
University: A supply chain manage-
ment major in the Eli Broad College
of Business and a member of the
honors college, he was also a member
of Beta Gamma Sigma national busi-
ness honors fraternity, National
Society of Collegiate Scholars,
Golden Key National Honor Society
and Mortar Board. Migliore also
received seven competitive academic
scholarships, including the Jeffrey and
Kathryn Cole International Studs'
Scholarship. lie is the son of Pamela
Migliore of Farmington Hills and
Frank and Laura Migliore of
Metamora.

Judge Stephen Cooper of Southfield
has been elected to the position of cor-
responding secretary of the Dr. Martin
Luther King Jr. Taskforce Committee.

Adam Michael Grant of West
Bloomfield graduated from Harvard
College in Cambridge, Mass. He con-
centrated. in psychology and graduated
with a bachelor's degree, Phi Beta
Kappa, magma corn fait& with highest
honors in his field. He is the son of
Susan and Mark, Grant.

Lawrence I. Berkove of Southfield, on
faculty at University of Michigan
Dearborn, was named professor emeri-
tus of English language and literature
by the U-/v1 regents. Berkove retired
from active faculty status in April. He
is an internationally
known scholar of
American literature
of 19th and 20th
centuries and is rec-
ognized as an
authority on
Ambrose Bierce,
Mark Twain, Jack
Berkove
London and writers
of the "Sagebrush
School."

Sandy Zipser of Oak Park was recent-
ly honored at the Jewish Community
Center of Metropolitan Detroit's
annual program to recognize staff
members \vb.° have contributed many
years of service. During 18 years at the
Center, Zipser worked with the
Special Needs Program and assisted at
the Fame Games. Also an employee of
the city of Southfield, Zipser received
a letter of recognition from Mayor
Brenda Lawrence commending her for
her dedicated work in community
relations.
