Beard Foundation ... and its fine edu-
cational and training work in the
cooking arts.
Morimoto is the TV Food
Network's noted chef-owner of
Morimoto in Philadelphia ... probably
just as recognized as the chef with a
diamond in his left ear.
Joining him will be French chef
Andrew Carmellini from Cafe Boulud,
New York; Douglas Rodriquez, cook-
book author and chef-owner of Alma
de Cuba in Philadelphia and Deseo in
Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Johnny luzzini, of
Jean Georges in New York, named one
of the 10 best pastry chefs in America.
There'll be just one seating, 6:45
p.m. ... with the seven courses also
including wine ... $250 per person ...

thing out.
"First we got preempted by the war
and since Against the Ropes is not a
summer movie, Paramount looked for
a good late summer-early fall date. But
Meg has another film coming out on
Oct. 24 and it was decided that it was
not wise to release two Meg Ryan
movies too close together. They would
compete with each other.
"Since the film's producers expected
Against the Ropes to come out in April,
they felt that Oct. 24 was a good date
for them. They still feel that way.
"So ... Paramount is going to let
that film open and give it some room
to breathe. Then, after the holidays
(and the Super Bowl) are over, they
will release Against the Ropes on Feb. 6
(which is supposedly a great date for
this kind of film).
"I see a lot of former Detroiters out
here.
"Norma Zager lives here and the
former comedienne (who did those
