I thought state law made it mandatory. Is there any law making a vault a requirement? A: There are no laws making vaults mandatory. Each cemetery has rules and regulations that mandate their own cemetery. For example, a vault is not allowed at Hebrew Memorial but is a requirement at Beth El Memorial Park.
