Israel Bound

Learn about next year's
Miracle Mission.

I is all systems go for Detroit
Jewry's next community-wide
trip to Israel. More than 550
people have already confirmed reser-
vations for Federation's Michigan
,.
Miracle Mission 4 — and more
informational meetings are upcom-
ing.
The goal for the mission, April 18-
28, 2004, is 800 people — an
amount that would fill two El Al jet-
liners.
"We have come
together for this mis-
sion as only our Jewish
community can do,"
said Richard Krugel,
who co-chairs the mis-
sion with Peter Alter.
Along with the co-
Alter
sponsors, the Detroit
Jewish News and the
Michigan Board of Rabbis, Jewish
congregations, agencies and organiza-
tions are
0 busy recruiting mission-
tions
goers.
Two informational meetings for
prospective mission-goers are coming up:
7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, and Monday,
Sept. 8, at the Max M.
Fisher Federation
Buildin2., 6735
Telegraph Road,
Bloomfield Township.
To say you are coming,
contact Cherron
Jackson, (248) 642-
4260, ext. 225 or e-mail: Krugel

The itinerary contin-
ues to be tweaked.
"We want each and every one to
come back with lasting memories,"
Alter said. "In planning travel and logis-
tics, we're listening carefully to the stat-
ed desires of the community, so that we
offer enough choices to please first-time
and veteran travelers to Israel alike."
"In addition to visiting the most
popular sites, we plan to add mean-
ingful experiences spending time to
volunteer in communities and interact
with Israelis. This is a people-to-peo-
ple mission."
Applications and reservations for the
mission are processed on a first-come,
first-served basis. Contact Sally Krugel,
mission director: (248) 203-1485, or
