RENEE ROSEN, 89, of Los Angeles,
died July 1, 2003.
She is survived by her son and daugh-

Rohnert Park, Calif.; daughter, Sheila
Troiano of Los Angeles; sister and broth-
er-in-law, Rosalyn and Irwin Wittcoff;
grandchildren, Martine Troiano, Erik
and Melissa Boehm. She was the beloved
wife of the late Henry Rokn.

RUTH SALAN, 93, of Berkley, died
July 1, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Ben
Salan; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly
and Dale Henderson of Clawson; grand-
daughter, Kimberly Gersund.

FREDA SANDWEISS, 95, of San
Diego, formerly of Detroit, died July 8,
2003. She was a social worker, graduate
of the University of Michigan with a
master's degree in social work and a for-
mer member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Mrs. Sandweiss is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Dr. Samuel and
Sharon Sandweiss of California, Dr.
Donald and Nancy Sandweiss of
California; daughters and son-in-law,
Flora and Stewart Newblatt of Glen
Arbor, Sandra Berman of Ann Arbor;
grandchildren, Ruth Sandweiss, Beth
Sandweiss, Judith Sandweiss, David and
Kris Sandweiss, Deborah Sandweiss,
Rachel and Jeff Weistrop, David and
Melanie Newblatt, Robert and Kristen
Newblatt, Josh and Tricia Newblatt,
Daniel and Lila Berman; great-grand-

LOUIS SCHNEIDER, 93, of West
Bloomfield, died July 4, 2003.
He is survived by his dear friends,
John and Marilyn Nathan of West
Bloomfield. He was the beloved husband
of the late Paula Schneider; brother of
the late Annette Schneider.
Interment at Woodmere Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a charity
of one's choice. A memorial service will
be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday July 15, at the
residence of John and Marilyn Nathan,

LEO SIMON, 79, of Lake Havasu City
Ariz., died June 29, 2003. He was a
flooring salesman, a World War II Army-
Air Force veteran, who was stationed in
India, China and Burma, a member of
the Masons and Elks and a past master
and a member for over 30 years of
Perfection Mosaic Lodge.
Mr. Simon is survived by his daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Gail and Stuart
Raben of Commerce, Annette and
Kenneth MacKenzie of Washington;
grandchildren, Jay and Julie Telrav,
Lindsay Raben; sister, Margaret
Goldman of Illinois; sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law, Robin and Richard
Crosby and MaryEllen and Guiseppe
Merenda. For 57 years, he was the
beloved husband of the late Vivien
Simon.
