At the same, time, President Bush has proven a great friend of Israel in other ways; with- out his friendship, Israel would be even more vulnerable in its battle to preserve Jewish statehood. This Fourth of July, heralding America's Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, let us exalt in the free- doms unfurled and symbolized by the Stars and Stripes.
