earing their home-
made hats and their
biggest smiles, 14
preschoolers marched
onto the stage at Congregation
Beth Shalom in Oak Park.
All students at the synagogue's
Gan Shalom Early Childhood
Program moved up to a higher
level at the June 13 ceremony. The
youngest group, Garinim (seeds)
became Netzanim (buds), and
Netzanim grew into Etzim (trees).
When school resumes in the fall,
Gan Shalom will offer a full-day
program, including Hebrew
immersion and afternoon enrich-
ment classes. Meanwhile, the
school will begin a five-week pre-
school day camp July 14. Fl
