Meeting Planned
The Jewish Historical Society (JHS)
of Michigan annual meeting and
luncheon will take place 10:45 a.m.
Sunday, June 29, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
Matilda Brandwine will be hon-
ored as this year's recipient of the
Leonard N. Simons History Award.
Brandwine, a lifelong Jewish com-
munity volunteer, was one of the
founders of the statewide computer-
ized Jewish Cemetery Index, a cen-
tral registry of burials in southeast-
ern Michigan.
Peter D. Cummings, community
leader and chairman of the board of
the Detroit Symphony Orchestra
gill be the keynote speaker.
Robert D. Kaplow, president of
the JHS of Michigan, will give its
annual report, and new members of
the board will be elected.

June 30 is the deadline for an
