Services was held Thursday, June 5, at

Is On The Way
MAZON: A Jewish Response to
Hunger awarded $22,000 to two of
Michigan's hunger-relief organiza-
tions.
A $5,000 grant went to the Food
Bank of Oakland County to support
the distribution of more than 6 mil-
lion pounds of food to hundreds of
agencies in areas of Detroit and the
outlying suburbs.
A $17,000 grant went to the Center
for Civil Justice in Saginaw to support
the anti-hunger advocacy and food
stamp policy work of this legal servic-
es organization.
Over the course of the last 12
months, MAZOLA granted $3.4 mil-
lion to over 260 programs nation-
wide. A total of $471,500 in grant
money has been given to organiza-
tions in Michigan since 1988.
