Ann Arbor's Communal Hub
Federation and JCC help bring the community together.
The Federation is the central
communal organization in the
Jewish community and is driv-
en by its mandate to "foster
Jewish communal life by initi-
ating, coordinating and pre-
serving activities that strength-
en Jewish life locally, in Israel
and throughout the world."
Federation sponsors a wide
variety of social, educational,
and cultural programs through-
out the year, in addition to
mounting an annual communi-
ty-wide fund-raising campaign.
Locally, the Federation
umbrella includes Jewish
Family Services, Hebrew Day
School, the Jewish Community
Center, Hillels at both Eastern
Michigan University and U-M,
the Keshet community Hebrew
high school and several other
Jewish organizations.
In addition to its Annual
Campaign, the Federation has
standing committees for
Community Relations, the
Humanitarian Award Dinner,
the Maimonides and Cardozo
societies, Women's Division
and the Young Adult Division
(YAD).
