An Eye On The Town Ragan's World On May 27, a multigenerational crowd of sev- eral hundred people turned out to hear novelist Naomi Ragen at Adat Shalom Synagogue for an adult education event co-sponsored with Temple Israel. Author Naomi Ragen American-born, Ragen .has lived in Jerusalem for the last 33 years. "The sound a bomber makes as Elaine Robins, Deanna Weisman, Fran Pearlman he blows himself up is a language. It should be responded to in kind," she emphasized to the spellbound crowd. She says the inspiration for each of her books has been real life. As an Orthodox Jewish woman, her books are her "bimah" for speaking out. Ragen's latest projects include a new book, The Covenant, about a terrorist kidnapping, due out in 2004, and a play, Women's Minyan, currently being per- formed at Israel's National Theater.
