Jewish Heritage Night #2: "Got Israel?'

The theme of
Jewish Heritage
Night #2 was "Got
Israel? What Israel
Means To Me." The
evening featured a
variety of Israel
experiences and
drew on the
resources provided
by several guest
speakers. Featured
L to R: Anat
Borenstein-Tsafrir of Michigan Friends of the IDF; Brian Rosenbaum,
AZA Council Shaliach; Robyn King, BBG Council Jewish Heritage Chair;
Owen Alterman, past AZA Council Aleph Godol and Harvard Law
student; and Shoshana Becker, Community Youth Sh'licha.

Robyn King of
Ruach BBG and
Scott Lachman of
Jolson AZA conduct
a program on the
geography and
topography of
Israel at Jewish
Heritage Night #2,
held on March 2 at
the Laker
Education Complex
in West Bloomfield.
Jewish Heritage
Nights are funded
by a donation from Noah Wofsy, an AZA alumnus from Levi Strauss
BBYO, Mt. Clemens.

Inter-Regional Kallah

Ariella Lis (R) explains to (L to R)
Monica Woll of Koach BBG, Max
Jacobson of Wisconsin AZA, and Perry
Teicher of Greenberg AZA how the
Jewish values program will work on
Shabbat morning at the Inter-Regional
Kallah, held March 28-30 in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. BBYOers from
Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northstar
(Minneapolis) Regions gathered for what turned out to be an excellent
weekend of Judaic programming.

Although the
weekend was
cold and rainy,
the Michigan
delegation at
Inter-Regional
Kallah brought
warm smiles and
open minds to a
program that
featured fun,
Jewish education,
and new friends.

Shapiro AZA lead the

Senior Dedication
was another
highlight at ETC
on Saturday night.
A slide show that
featured seniors
in action in BBYO
was followed by
the presentation
of this year's
senior banner.
Then each senior
was called down
to let everyone
know where they wit be going for higher education. It was a big year
for the University of Michigan, but seniors were also going to Michigan
State, Northwestern, Emory, Yale, Georgetown, George Washington,
Ferris State, and York University in Toronto.
