ALANA LYNN EPSTEIN

Sutdy Torah With
Rabbi Glogower

Congregation B'nai Moshe will present a special evening of Torah study for adults
and teens with Rabbi Rod Glogower of Ann Arbor from 7:30-9 p.m. Monday,
June 30.
`A Traditionalist Confronts Modernity — Rabbi Yechezkel Landau of Prague,
1713-1793" will be the topic. Rabbi Landau was a staunch traditionalist who sup-
ported certain elements of the haskalah (enlightenment) movement. For many
years, he served as the chief rabbi of Prague and Bohemia.
Rabbi Glogower is rabbinic resource person on staff of the B'nai B'rith Hillel
Foundation at the University of Michigan and an adjunct professor at the U-M
Law School. He teaches adult courses in Talmud and Tanakh for the Detroit
Federation's Alliance for Jewish Education.
Tuition is $10 per person ($8 for B'nai Moshe members). Advance registration
is encouraged, but students may also register at the door. Some reading knowledge
of Hebrew is helpful but not required.
This learning event has been made possible by a gift to the Ruth Rosenberg
Albert Adult Education Fund of Congregation B'nai Moshe from Dr. Rich and
Marci Herman. The event is coordinated by the B'nai Moshe Adult Jewish
Learning Group, chaired by Nancy Kaplan.
For reservations or information, call the B'nai Moshe office, (248) 788-0600.
