Hospice of Michigan is dedicated to providing care and comfort to those in the final stages of life and their families. Eric Paskel, psychologist and yoga instructor, spoke on self-dis- covery and yoga's healing proper- ties. Chair Lori Pogoda accepted a check presented by Kim Zazula of Fifth Third Bank for a grant dona- tion of $53,000. Dr. John Finn, medical director of the Maggie Allesee Center for Quality of Life, spoke about hos- pice history — "the history of remarkable women" — beginning in Dublin in the 1800s. "Hospice is the only model of interdisciplinary holistic care in the entire health care system," he said. Debby Tukel then shared her experiences about her dying father and Hospice of Michigan workers, who provided dignified support not only for him but her whole family, even embracing her young children.
