Iry Horwitz is enjoying another suc-
cessful season, his 24th, as North
Farmington's varsity baseball coach.
This year's team was 14-7 through
May 14. The Raiders' lineup includes
a pair of Jewish starters: sophomore
third baseman Brad Levick, who's bat-
ting .310 in his second year as a
starter, and junior centerfielder Adam
Vieder, a strong defensive outfielder
who's hitting .285.
Adam is the third Vieder brother to
play at North Farmington. He's fol-
lowing in• the footsteps of older broth-
ers Ryan and Jeff.
Pitcher Matt Zatkin is enjoying a
strong senior campaign at Farmington
Harrison. He's 4-2 with a 1.96 ERA
and 37 strikeouts in 40 innings
pitched.
Six of the eight members of
Andover's ladies' golf team are Jewish.
Sophomore Laura Rubens placed sec-
ond in the OAA meet. Other Jewish
golfers include fellow sophs Stephanie
Singer and Erica Kleiman, junior
Lexie Mitter and sophomores Erika
Finn and Katherine Pensler.
The Bloomfield Unified lacrosse
team — with players from Andover
and Lahser — headed into state tour-
nament play following an 11-5 regular
season. The team includes senior
defensemen Bobby Gruenburg and
Jon Miller, junior defenseman Mike
Wolf and freshman midfielder Danny
Sheldon.
Sophomore Aaron Hodari scored
seven goals in two games as Country
Day's lacrosse team split a pair of
games in the Midwest Lacrosse
Tournament in Ohio.
B'nai B'rith's 21st annual Golf
Classic will tee off on June 16 at the
Wabeek Country Club in Bloomfield
Hills. BBYO kids will serve as caddies,
which is fitting because the event ben-
efits B'nai B'rith's youth-serving agen-
cies. For information, call (248) 855-
0700.
