Semp supervises ritual and religious serv- ices, conducts the daily morning and evening minyan and monthly Seudah Shilishii, serves Semp year round as Torah read- er, reads the Purim Megillah, is the resi- dent mashgiach, conducts parts of the High Holiday services and sounds the shofar. Alliance Hosts A Chavurah This summer, a Hebrew speaking group will meet Sunday mornings from 10 a.m.-noon and on Tuesday evenings, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Max M. Fisher Federation Building in Bloomfield Township. The two groups, led by Nira Lev, will speak, read and study Hebrew in a chavurah atmosphere under the aus- pices of Federation's Alliance for Jewish Education. There is a fee. Torah Center Hosts Scholar Rabbi Eyal Rav-Noy, director of the Institute for Jewish Literacy in Los Angeles, will be the scholar in resi- dence at a Shabbaton sponsored by the Sara Tugman Bais Chabad Torah Center and the Hyman and Sonia Blumenstein Outreach Institute from May 30-June 1. The theme of the weekend will be "Who Really Wrote the Bible?"
