Zachary Bryan
Friedman, son of
Susan Friedman and
Kenneth Friedman
and brother of Starr
and Tyler, will be
called to the Torah as
a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, May 31, at Temple Shir
Shalom. His proud grandparents are
Cyrille Goode and Eileen and Murray
Friedman. He is also the grandson of
the late Jason Goode.
Zach attends Berkshire Middle
School in Birmingham, where he is a
high honor student and plays trom-
bone in the school band. His interests
include karate, piano and reading. His
mitzvah projects included working at
Yad Ezra in Berkley and helping out at
Wing Lake School, where he especially
enjoyed reading to the children.

Anthony Goldman,
son of Jerome and
Mary Goldman, will
be called to the Torah
as a bar mitzvah
Friday, May 30, at
Temple Emanu-El.
He is a seventh-
grade student at
Power Middle School in Farmington
Hills and excels in mathematics.
Anthony enjoys clarinet, ice hockey,
in-line hockey and soccer. When he is
not with friends playing, he can be

vah on Saturday, May
31, at Temple Israel.
She is the grandchild
of Joan and Jack Friedman and Rhoda
Brickner. She is also the grandchild of
the late Daniel Brickner.
Liza attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills, where she
is an honor student. Her hobbies
include arts and crafts, volleyball,
reading and swimming. She enjoys
summers at Tamarack Camps. As part
of her mitzvah projects, Liza collected
clothing for Lighthouse in Pontiac and
thoroughly enjoyed delivering meals to
senior citizens on Thanksgiving.

ects, Anthony assisted with childcare
at Temple Emanu-El during High
Holiday services. He also volunteered
at the Special Olympics, guided par-
ticipants at Purim games and worked
in the library at the temple. In the
community, Anthony prepared pack-
ages for the Goodfellows Drive. He
plans to finish his projects by visiting
homebound seniors.

Robert Michael

Friday, May 30, at
Temple Shir Shalom. He is the broth-
er of Laura Rose and grandson of
Ruth Goldman-Sarcus, Ralph Sarcus
and Sheldon Goldman. He is the also
the grandson of the late Morris and
Regina Tapper.
Robert is a student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield.
His interests include playing baseball
and basketball, going online, being
with friends and spending summers at
Tamarack Camps. He volunteered at
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield, playing bingo with senior
adults, and collecting gently worn
clothing to be donated to the
Clothing Closet in Pontiac.

Sarah Lindsay
Hepner will be called
to the Torah as a bat
mitzvah on Saturday,
May 31, at Adat
Shalom Synagogue.
She is the daughter of
Evva and Dr. Michael
Hepner. She is the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Hepner of Pittsburgh, Mrs.
Ruth Savage and the late Sidney
Savage.
Sarah is an honor student at Warner
Middle School in Farmington Hills,
where she plays trumpet in the sev-
enth-grade band. She enjoys gymnas-
tics, summers at Tamarack Camps and
music. Her mitzvah volunteer work
included the Housing the Homeless
Project at Adat Shalom, making dolls
at Hadassah House in West
Bloomfield and working on the
Hadassah rummage sale.
