lished a book. Raising

Voices: Creating Youth
Storytelling Groups
and Troupes is a com-
pilation of 35 years of
combined experiences
working with young
people, teaching the
art of storytelling.
Sima
Sima served as a
media specialist in the
Warren Fitzgerald School District for
35 years. In 1987, she initiated the
Chatterton Talespinners, a middle
school storytelling troupe.

Nathan Lada and Asher Dunn, both
of Bloomfield Hills and students at the
Jewish Academy of Metropolitan
Detroit, competed in a mock Beit Din
(mock court) in Philadelphia. The
competition was sponsored by the
North American Association of Jewish
High Schools. Coached by Rabbi
Aaron Bergman, JAMID's head of
Judaic studies, the students were run-
ners up against much larger teams
from high schools in Boston,
Philadelphia and New Jersey.
