He is survived by his dear com- panion, Pat Furlick; father, Benjamin Berke of Farmington Hills; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Nadine Berke of Farmington Hills, Marc and Laura -Berke of Farmington Hills; sister and brother-in-law, Terri and Ted Dallas of Farmington Hills. NORMAN BESBRIS, 84, of Kalamazoo, died May 21, 2003. He was a retired meat packer, a lifetime member of Congregation of Moses in Kalamazoo, a member of B'nai B'rith, decorated World War II Army veteran and a member of BPOE. Mr. Besbris is survived by his wife of 59 years, Celia Besbris; daughters and sons-in-law, Randie Levin of Bloomfield Hills, Terry and Jeffrey Paule of California, Debra and Seth Strichartz of California; son and daughter-in-law, David Besbris and Nina Rosenfeld of California; grandchildren, Sarah Paule, Melinda Paule, Max Besbris, Elana Besbris, Emily Strichartz and Libby Strichartz; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Gloria Besbris of Kalamazoo; sister and brother-in- law, Bedonna and Ben Ashapa. She attended Eastern Michigan University as a nursing student and was a phlebotomist for the past 10 years at Florid Hospital- Ormond Memorial. Mrs. Freedman did volunteer work for the Jewish Federation, Temple Israel, Bet Sefer School and Congregation B'nai Torah, where she was a member. She also enjoyed playing mahjong and was famous for her haman- tashen, which she used to donate to the Bet Sefer School. Mrs. Freedman is survived by her sons, Steven and Matthew Silverman of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, Pamela Silverman of MONUMENT CENTER INC.
