Shaarey Zedek Woman's World

Congregation Shaarey Zedek's Sisterhood hosted the annual Woman's World on
May 7. More than 500 women enjoyed lunch and a strolling fashion show pre-
sented by Neiman Marcus. The patrons shopped the boutiques, including
unique sweaters from Elaine Surnow knockoff purses from Purse Strings and a
large group of Israeli artisans and vendors. "Detroit's whole community is so
wonderful, said Einat Hasson of Studio Alsberg in Jerusalem. Shoppers crowd-
ed around "Jewels of Israel", a collection of 20 different jewelry designers from
workshops all over Israel, "I'm very proud to be here representing myself and
some of the other artists who could not come," said Jewels of Israel artist Alex
Gruss. Some of the worldly patrons included Harriet Orley, Beth Margolin,
Adrienne Ruby, Terry Oster, Harriet Ruza, Laynie Langnas, Dr. Susan
Brodsky, Dina Brodsky, Stacy Brodsky, Heidi Fischgrund, Susie Harold,
Jessica Harold, synagogue President Steven Weisberg and wife, Lori.
