Shavuot Dinner

For Yad Ezra Contest

Congregation B'nai Moshe will host a
Tikkun Leil Shavuot (Torah study ses-
sion on the first night of Shavuot) on
Thursday, June 5.
This year's tikkun will begin with
services at 6 p.m., followed by an
Israeli buffet supper at 6:45 p.m., and
Torah study from 7:30-9 p.m.
There is a charge for dinner: adults
and teens, $12 ($10 for members of
B'nai Moshe); children ages 4-12, $7
($5 for members). There is no charge
for children age 3 or younger. Prepaid
reservations by May 29 are a must for
the supper.
The Shavuot study session will fea-
ture an interactive discussion titled
"Receiving the Torah in 5763," facili-
tated by Rabbi Elliot Pachter. There is
no charge for the study session.
Other Shavuot events planned at
B'nai Moshe this year include the
chanting of Megillat Ruth, the Book
of Ruth, on the first morning of
Shavuot, and the installation of new
synagogue officers and board on the
second morning of the holiday.

Yad Ezra will again sponsor a Rosh
Hashanah greeting card contest. Students
of all ages are encouraged to submit to
Yad Ezra original designs incorporating
the themes of Rosh Hashanah.
The winning entries (in four age cat-
egories) will have their designs repro-
duced onto greeting cards that will be
sold by Yad Ezra in time for the holi-
days. Winners will be announced in the

Detroit Jewish News.
Time constraints and school vaca-
tions require that entries be submitted
to Yad Ezra, 2850 W. 11 Mile Road,
Berkley, MI 48072, no later than June
8. Name, age, address, phone and
school/synagogue affiliation must be
