In a universal campaign to encourage
those not yet lighting Shabbat candles to
begin the tradition, Chabad-Lubavitch
has enlisted 1,000 emissaries to embark
on an intensive drive promoting the
effort — but with a unique inclusion.
Friday, May 30, has been designated
as a day for Jews worldwide to rally
together to observe the mitzvah of
Shabbat candlelighting — and to focus
their prayers on safety and security for
those in Israel.
To have your name included on the
Wall of Honor with others making a
commitment to the Shabbat Candles for
Peace program, go to:
www.shabbatpeace.com
The Web site also includes instruc-
tions on how to light Shabbat candles
and blessings to be recited.
