Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit.

Nicole E. Mancino,

mitzvah Saturday,
May 24, at Temple
Israel. She is the
grandchild of Rita
and Irving Berkowitz.
Nicole attends Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield,
where she is an honor student.
Tennis, music, dance, Pilates and
computers are some of the activities
that interest her. She also enjoys
Tamarack Camps in the summer.
Volunteering in the autistic impaired
classroom at her school was a particu-
larly meaningful mitzvah project for
her.

Ryan Michael Palter
will be called to the
Torah on the occa-
sion of his bar mitz-
vah Saturday, May
24, at Temple Israel.
He is the son of
Peggy and Daniel
Palter and brother of
Kimberly and Jessica. His grandpar-
ents are Barbara Alter and Doris and
Dick Palter. He is also the grandchild
of the late Bernard Alter and the late
Samuel Gross. His late great-grand-
mother was Shirley Hasnas.
Attending Orchard Lake Middle
School in West Bloomfield, Ryan, an
honor student, participates in hockey,
football, baseball and basketball. He
also enjoys hip-hop dancing and
music and recently starred as the lead
in his school's production of The Wiz.
He found it especially meaningful to
combine his love of animals with one
of his mitzvah projects, raising funds
for the Humane Society.

Saturday, May 24, at
Temple Israel. Her
brother Aaron and grandparents Tibie
and Sam Rudofsky and Barbara and
Stanley Rubin will share in the sim-
chah.
Brittany attends Roeper School in
Birmingham. She enjoys singing and
dancing, acting, playing volleyball and
reading. Her most meaningful mitzvah
project was being a chemo angel to a 6-
year-old with leukemia.

Stephanie Elizabeth
Steinberg will cele-
brate her bat mitzvah
on Friday, May 23, at
Temple Shir Shalom.
She is the daughter of
David and Joyce
Steinberg and sister of
Lindsay. Stephanie's
grandparents are Abe and Pearl
Friedman of Southfield and Irving and
Shirley Steinberg of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Stephanie is a seventh-grade honor
student at Warner Middle School in
Farmington Hills, where she enjoys
playing trumpet in the school band.
Her other interests include art, reading,
using the computer and playing soft-
ball. Her mitzvah projects included vol-
unteering at Yad Ezra in Berkley and
Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit, and
being an aide at Adat Shalom day camp
in Farmington Hills.

Molly Hannah Winer
was called to the

vah Saturday, May 17,
at Shaarey Zedek
West Bloomfield,
B'nai Israel Center.
She is the daughter of
Nancy and Eric
Winer and sister of Rachel and Eli.
Proud grandparents are Irving Wiener
and Toby and Bernard Rivkin. She is
also the granddaughter of the late
Kathleen Wiener and the late Rae
Rivkin.
Molly is an honor student at Orchard
Lake Middle School in West
Bloomfield. She enjoys dancing, horse-
back riding and socializing with friends.
She spends her summers at Camp Sea-
Gull in Charlevoix. Her most meaning-
ful mitzvah project was working at the
Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.
