Federation Hosts
Pride In Israel Day

The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit invites the community to an
afternoon of Israeli flag-waving, food, fun and song 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday,
June 8, outdoors at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield.
Wearing blue and white colors for Take Pride in Israel Day is encouraged.
"Our connections to Israel run deep and strong," said Lisa Lis, who co-
chairs the event with Ron Klein. "We see this event as an opportunity for
the community to gather in celebration and express our pride for all that
Israel has achieved and stands for."
The festivities are free and open to the community. Headlining the after-
noon will be Israeli rock star Michael Harpaz and his band, who will per-
form a variety of Israeli songs. Live entertainment will also feature perform-
ances by children's choirs.
Special attractions just for kids will include a climbing wall, moon walk
and face painting. For teens, a special area will be designated for activities
and fun.
There will be Israeli foods, booths of Israeli arts and Judaica available for
purchase and the opportunity to write a "letter home" to Israeli victims of
terror.
Take Pride in Israel Day is sponsored by Federation with Foley Lardner
attorneys at law. For information, call Cherron Jackson, (248) 203-1494.
