Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia can be a very
challenging task. You may find yourself striving for new ways to cope and
manage with the ever-changing behaviors from your loved one. Kelley
Fulkerson is an Independent Trainer and Consultant who has over 20 years
experience working in the field of Alzheimer's disease. She has conducted
many presentations to professionals and caregivers regarding the various
aspects of Alzheimer's disease. During this seminar, Kelley Fulkerson will
explore tips and techniques caregivers can use to cope and manage
challenging behaviors individuals with Alzheimer's disease.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Allan Howard
Cherry-Cadreau will
celebrate his bar mitz-
vah at Temple Israel
Saturday, May 17. He
is the son of Lisa
Cherry and Keith
Cadreau and the
brother of Rachel. His
grandparents are Jean and Miles
Cadreau, Russi Cherry-Arden and
"Papa" Sheldon Gordon. His is also the
grandchild of the late Capt. Allan S.
Cherry. His very proud great-grand-
mother is Mary Gordon.
Allan attends Norup Middle School
in Oak Park. He is most interested in
soccer and basketball. Volunteering to
help at the Huntington Recreation
Center was his most meaningful mitz-
vah project.

Rebecca Mara Cooper
of Huntington Woods
will be called to the
Torah as a bat mitzvah
on Saturday, May 17,
at Congregation Beth
Shalom: She is the
daughter of Mari and
Alex Cooper and sister
of David. Her very proud grandparents
are Libby and Marx Cooper and Osmo
Masalin.
Becca is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Norup Middle School in Oak
Park. She is a member of Norup's stu-
dent council, volleyball and track teams
and a percussionist in the school band.
She also plays soccer, and is an accom-
plished swimmer with the YPAC and
Huntington Woods swim teams and a
current record holder in four swim
events with the Huntington Woods
Hurricanes. Becca has been a longtime
volunteer with the Huntington Woods
Parks and Recreation programs. Her
other mitzvah activities include visiting
residents of the American House
Apartments in West Bloomfield and
working at Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Alex Jabob Martin
Dembs will be called
to the Torah Saturday,
May 17, at
Congregation Shir
Tikvah. He is the son
of Janice and Gary
Dembs of Huntington
Woods and the grand-
child of Philip Dembs, the late Ann
Dembs and the late Albert and Ruth
Weiss.
A.J. is a seventh-grader at Norup
