Elizabeth is a double honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day School of
Metropolitan Detroit, where she is
on the varsity tennis, basketball,
volleyball and soccer teams. She
also plays piano and softball and
enjoys spending time with friends.
She spends her summers at Camp
Ramah in Canada. Her favorite
mitzvah projects include working at
Congregation Beth Ahm's preschool
camp, volunteering at Farmington
Hills-based JARC and at the
Fleischman Residence in West
Bloomfield.

Jared Blake
Weinerman will be
called to the Torah
on the occasion of
his bar mitzvah
Friday, May 9, at
Temple Israel. He is
the son of Linda and
Rick Weinerman
and brother of Zach. His excited
grandparents are Gloria and Herb
Woolman and Rosslyn Weinerman.
He is also the grandchild of the late
Jack Weinerman. His proud great-
grandmother is Pearl Gittleman.
Jared is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. He enjoys follow-
ing the Red Wings, Pistons and
Lions games, participating in sports,
working computers and spending
summers at Camp Tanuga in
Kalkaska. Adopting a family
through Helping Hands was the
mitzvah project he found to be most
meaningful.

Jeremy Manfred
Werner, son of Sheri
and Daniel Werner,
will celebrate his bar
mitzvah as he reads
from the Torah on
Friday, May 9, at
Temple Israel. He is
the brother of
Mitchell and Baylee.
His grandparents are Susie and
Michael Kent and Doris Werner. He
is also the grandchild of the late
Manfred Werner. His proud great-
grandmother is Sylvia Thomas.
An honor student at West Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills,
Jeremy is a travel-hockey player with
elite championship status in the dis-
trict. He also enjoys basketball, snow-
boarding, wakeboarding and baseball.
His most meaningful mitzvah project
was donating to the Israel Emergency
Fund.

Rita Brittany Yarber
celebrated her bat
mitzvah Friday, May
2, at Temple Shir
Shalom. She is the
daughter of Judy
and Terry Yarber
and sister of Clark,
Grant and Chase. Proud grandpar-
ents are William and Janice
Bronstein of Naples, Fla. She is
also the granddaughter of the late
Rita Bronstein.
Rita is an honor student at
Orchard Lake Middle School in
West Bloomfield. She enjoys danc-
ing, soccer, swimming, cheerlead-
ing and being with friends. Her
favorite mitzvah project is helping
teach first-grade Sunday school at
Temple Shir Shalom.

Out Of State

Naomi Fine of Bellvue, Wash., was
called to the Torah at Temple De
Hirsch Sinai Saturday, May 3. She
is the daughter of Rabbi David and
Beth Burstein Fine and sister of
Avishai. Proud grandparents are
Mordy and Chaya Burstein of Har
Halutz, Israel, and Harland and
Fran Fine of Commerce Township.
Naomi is a seventh-grade honor
student at the Jewish Day School
in Bellvue.

Abraham Alexander Schreier, son
of Dr. Eric and Jacklyn Schreier of
Ft. Wayne, Ind., was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on May 3,
at Congregation
Achduth Vesholom
in Ft. Wayne. Also
participating in the
simchah were his
sisters Mallory and
Brooklyn. Abe is the
grandson of former
Detroiters Barbara
Schreier of Ann
Arbor, Dr. Leonard Schreier of
Kona, Hawaii, Rita Lauinger of
White Lake and the late Peter
Lauinger.
Abe is a seventh-grade honor stu-
dent at Jefferson Middle School in
Ft. Wayne. He especially enjoys
playing the trumpet, is a black belt
in Tae Kwan Do, a Boy Scout,
attends Camp GUCI in Zionsville,
Ind., and likes speed-reading and
travel.
