Endowment for Arab Studies, is a pri-
mary defendant in the $100 trillion
lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court by
families of victims of the Sept. 11 ter-
ror attacks, the Berkeley Jewish
Journal wrote Tuesday in a special
investigative report.
The lawsuit charges bin Abdulaziz,
the Saudi defense minister, with
financing Al-Qaida terrorists, accord-
ing to Matt Levitt, a senior fellow on
terrorism studies at the Washington
Institute for Near East Policy.

Liaison Leaving
White House

Washington/JTA — The White
House's liaison to the Jewish commu-
nity is stepping down.
Sources tell JTA that Adam
Goldman, who began working with
President Bush in Texas in 1993, is
leaving to pursue opportunities in the
private sector.
Goldman was named by the
National Journal in November as a
"person to watch" in politics.

Synagogue Dumps
Arafat Supporter

New York/JTA — A leading New
York synagogue dropped an event it
was to host honoring a U.S. Jewish
supporter of Yasser Arafat.
Congregation B'nai Jeshurun on
Manhattan's Upper West Side said it
reached an agreement with Jews for
Racial and Economic Justice, the
organizer of the event, to move the
ceremony feting Adam Shapiro.
Shapiro, a New Yorker, holed up
with the Palestinian Authority presi-
dent during the Israeli siege of Arafat's
West Bank headquarters last year.

Plan Urges Recall

Of Settlers

Chicago/JTA — A peace group is call-
ing on the U.S. government to help
lure Israeli settlers out of the West
Bank and Gaza Strip with financial
incentives.
The Chicago-based Jewish Alliance
for Justice and Peace, known in
Hebrew as Brit Tzedek v'Shalom,
launched a campaign to convince the
United States to lend foreign aid and
solicit support from Europe to help
relocate Jewish settlers from the West
Bank and Gaza to within Israel proper.
