Suzanne Wease, a preschool director
from Waterford Township, chose the
camp for her son, Nicholas; because she
knows of no other that offers as much,
"and I did a lot of research."
"What I really thought was outstand-
ing is that besides it being a full day,
they offer tennis and swim lessons.
Nicholas has been swimming across the
pool there for three summers. Every
month it's, 'Five months til camp starts'
... Tour months til camp starts,'" Wease
said.

But for some parents, like Lisa and Lou
Corey of Birmingham and Karen and
Tony Levin of Farmington Hills, the
choice had less to do with accreditation
and more to do with their own fond
memories. Their kids went to the same
camps they did as children.
The Coreys' two children, Hadas, 12,
and Sam, 9, spent four years apiece at
Roeper School's summer day camp in
Bloomfield Hills before they went off to
Camp Tanuga. Lisa Corey, 39, liked that
Roeper was close by, but she remem-
bered loving it as a kid herself.
