The Church World Service-spon- sored event, which raises funds for charities that fight hunger, draws about 400 people every year. Twenty- five percent of the proceeds go to five local charities, including Yad Ezra, the Berkley-based kosher food bank. National and international chari- ties benefiting from the walk include the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and Mogen David Adom, Israel's emergency response organization. Registration begins at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 33112 Grand River in Farmington. The 10- kilometer walk begins at 1:30 p.m. There's also a mini-walk of 3 kilome- ters. Names of those for whom funeral services were officiated by the chapel are listed on the site for two weeks. After that time, the name of the deceased can be typed in to obtain the date of death, cemetery of burial and contact information for memorial contributions. Those searching for a date to observe the yahrtzeit of a family member buried through the chapel can access a database of names. Lists of yahrtzeit dates for the next 10 years are available by typing in the date of death. An e-mail reminder signup is offered for those wishing to be sent yahrtzeit dates online.
