Zuroffs of Southfield —
Michael and Cheryl and
their four children — know
that the best part of any meal is
dessert.
This is especially true when it comes
to a family favorite, Gittie Cookies.
"I call them 'Easy Gittie Cookies'
because I have a dear friend named

Gittie Jaffe who makes them from
scratch and they're incredible," Cheryl
Zuroff says.
"My eldest, Eliana, calls them 'maze
cookies' because they look like a maze
is running through them. Ami and
Sophie call them 'those chocolate
cookies with the sugar.'
"Whatever you call them, they are
great. They are always the first dessert
to go on Shabbos and a favorite of
many of our friends and neighbors!"

EASY GITTIE COOKIES
1 pkg. Duncan Hines devil's-food
cake
2 eggs
1/4 cup oil
4 t. milk or nondairy creamer
1/2 cup powdered sugar

Mix together the first four ingredi-
ents. Dough will be sticky. Form into
balls and roll through sugar. Place on
greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375F for
8-9 minutes. El
