Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Matthew Jay Shur will be called to
the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Friday, April 25, at Temple Emanu-
El. He is the son of Michelle and
Bob Shur and brother of Erica.
Matthew is a seventh-grade honor
student at O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in
Farmington Hills,
where he plays the
viola and belongs
to the forensics
club. He is
employed as a
Farmington
Observer carrier,
handling five
routes. Matthew
enjoys listening to music, playing
tennis, going to movies and visiting
with friends online and off. His
mitzvah projects include working at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek's Beth
Hayeled summer camp and at a
critter halfway house, helping to
take care of unique animals.
