Matthew David Lonnerstater, son

of Diane and Brian Lonnerstater,
will be called to the Torah as a bar
mitzvah on Saturday, April 26, at
Adat Shalom
Synagogue. He is
the brother of
Brandon, Shelby
and Jared.
Sharing in the
simchah will be
proud grandpar-
ents Sheila and
Marty Lederman
and Shirley and
Henry Lonnerstater.
Matthew is an honor student at
Walled Lake Middle School. He
plays clarinet in the school band
and enjoys soccer and in-line
hockey. As part of his mitzvah
project, Matthew participated in
Housing the Homeless at Adat
Shalom and volunteered at Yad
Ezra in Berkley.

Rebecca Ariel Segel will celebrate

her bat mitzvah on Saturday, April
26, at Temple
Beth El. She is
the daughter of
Cathy and Mark
Segel and sister
of Joshua. Her
grandparents are
Beverly and
Nathan
Peterman of
West Bloomfield
and Frank Segel of Baltimore. She
is also the granddaughter of the
late Anne Segel.
Rebecca is a seventh-grade honor
student at West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. She
enjoys basketball, soccer and vol-
leyball. Her mitzvah projects have
included delivering meals for Yad
Ezra in Berkley, working at
Gleaners Food Bank in Detroit
and making dolls at Hadassah
House in West Bloomfield. Her
most important mitzvah project
has been collecting art supplies for
PACT, a program in Israel helping
Ethiopian preschool children.
