Aronson Expands
Philanthropic Role

3-Year/100,000 total rriile
vehicle limited warranty

24 hr Roa.dside Assi.stance

n a win-win agreement with the
Jewish Federation of Metro-
politan Detroit, Chief Executive
Officer Robert Aronson will expand
his philanthropic advisory service
client base to include Michael
Steinhardt, a major philanthropist and
chairman of Jewish- Renaissance
Media, parent company of the Detroit
Jewish News.
Aronson will continue to provide
private philanthropic consulting serv-
ices to William Davidson, chairman
of Guardian Industries in Auburn
Hills, a client previously established
in May 2000.
In conjunction with his engagement
with Steinhardt and his
philanthropic foundation,
the Jewish Life Network,
Aronson will reduce his
formal time commitment
with Federation by an
additional day per week,
resulting in a 40/60 split
between his private con-
Aronson
sulting practice and his
position at Federation.
"The new alliance is not a loss for
Federation. It is a gain," said Lawrence
Jackier, Federation president. "Bob
will continue to do what he does best
— major fund-raising in the Detroit
community — while pursuing a
unique opportunity to lend his consid-
erable talents and energies outside
Federation to the benefit of the Jewish
community at large.
"Since the inception of this arrange-
ment, Bob has continued to be the full-
functioning CEO for Federation and
the United Jewish Foundation
[Federation's banking-real estate arm],
and we have moved forward to meet or
exceed all of our goals and objectives.
We expect this scenario to continue as
Bob begins his work with Steinhardt."
The new arrangement required a
review of the division of responsibili-
ties between Aronson and Mark
Davidoff, Federation's executive direc-
tor and chief operating officer.
Aronson will focus primarily on three
areas: Federation's high-end donor
development and cultivation; national
and international program relation-
ships; and strategic direction, both in
Detroit and in the community's ever-
evolving relationship with Israel.
Davidoff will assume more of the
responsibilities of Federation's day-to-day
management, focusing on local issues and
coordination of governance activities. ❑
