INEZ METLER, 92, of Oak Park, died
April 13, 2003.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine
Kauffman of Waterford and her fiance,
William Heller; sons and daughters-in-
law, Norbert and Sandy Metier of
Thornhill, Ontario, Maynard and Debbie
Metier of West Bloomfield; grandchil-
dren, Lisa and Jerry Metier-Boreland,
Paul and Lisa Metier, Michelle and Corey
Burke, Marla Metier, Aaron Metier,
David Metier; great-grandchildren, Lea,
Ryan, Dylon, Mara. She was the beloved
wife of the late Harold Metier.

I assume that your friend's father was

buried at Beth El Memorial Park, where
clothing or shrouds are acceptable. Every
other Jewish cemetery in this city makes a
shroud mandatory. This is a requirement not
just here, but throughout the Jewish world,
symbolizing our equality, giving no one
special treatment.
