New York/JTA —Interfaith couples will
get a chance to tell the world how
they're raising Jewish children, and win
$1,000 doing it. InterfaithFamilycom a
biweekly Web magazine about interfaith
issues, is sponsoring an essay contest for
interfaith couples to describe their
involvement in Jewish life.
Ed Case, publisher of the Web site,
said the contest should help publicize the
fact that an estimated 30 percent of
interfaith families are Jewishly active. The
contest, sponsored by the Walter Sc Elise
Haas Fund, offers a $1,000 grand prize
and first, second and third prizes ranging
from $360 to $90. Among the judges are
authors Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Anita
Diamant, as well as Rabbi Charles
Simon and Kerry Olitzky, director of the
Jewish Outreach Institute. For more
details, see InterfaithFamily.com/contest

Jerusalem/JTA —David Ben-Gurion
apparently had a twin brother who died
at birth. Israel's ambassador to Poland,
Shevach Weiss, recently obtained the
birth certificate of Israel's first prime
minister from Warsaw authorities, Israel
Radio reported. Weiss promised to look
into the new disclosure.

Nuremberg Papers

San Francisco/JTA The transcripts
from the Nuremberg Trials were donat-
ed to San Francisco State University.
In 2001, a woman found the tran-
scripts of the trials of Nazi leaders in the
attic of her childhood home in Virginia.
She donated them to the Sarlo
Foundation, a supporting foundation of
the San Francisco Jewish federation,
which decided to give them to SFSU's
Jewish studies program. There are more
than 20 volumes of transcripts.
