Matzah Makers Whether you like it topped with cream cheese or raw onion or jelly or just plain, nothing beats matzah when you make it yourself. • C hildren around metro Detroit got a jump start on Pesach (Passover) when they had a chance to bake their very own matzah at the Barbara and Douglas Bloom Matzah Factory. Held at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield, the program is sponsored by Bais Chabad and the JCC, with cooperation from the Bais Menachem Academy and Yeshivat Menachem Mendel Lubavitch, and funding from the Benard L. Maas Foundation. Visitors to the annual event have a chance to learn about how the grain for flour is grown and specially watched, then how. it is mixed with water and baked for the holiday.
