Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Melanie Ashley
Lubin, daughter of
Shelley Kunin and
Donald- Lubin, cele-
brated her bat mitz-
vah during Havdalah
services at Temple
Israel Saturday,
March 22. She is the
grandchild of Seymour Kunin and the
late Beverly Elaine Kunin.
Melanie is an honor student as well
as a member of the yearbook staff and
student council at Warner Middle
School in Farmington Hills. She
enjoys dance, softball and Tamarack
Camps. As part of her mitzvah proj-
ect, she helped at temple during the
housing of the homeless; for several
years, she has also volunteered at
Mitzvah Day sponsored by the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

will become a bar
mitzvah at the Shul
on Saturday, April 5
Participating in the
ceremony will be
parents, Susan and
David Mendelson, sister Alicia and
brother Ethan. His proud grandpar-
ents are nana Carole Master of
Birmingham and grandma Adrienne
Mendelson of Chevy Chase, Md.
Honored great-grandfather is Ralph
Master of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
He is also the grandson of the late Eli
Master and the late Alan Mendelson.
Avery attends seventh grade at
Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills and
excels in science. His interests include
stamp and coin collecting, nature and
camping; he especially enjoys sum-
mers at Tamarack Camps. Avery's
mitzvah projects include volunteering
at a JARC home as well as donating
trees for planting at a children's gar-
den in Metulla, Israel.
