Levin Economics Award Lecture "Prospects for the World Economy: A Glimpse of 2015" NCB, NFHS Win West Bloomfield High School won first place in the DECA Quiz Bowl for the second year in a row, and North Farmington High School finished sec- ond. Both teams will compete at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Fla., April 26- 29. Several individuals from each school also qualified. West Bloomfield High School's Quiz Bowl team includes David Boorstein, Ben Feldman, Andrew Landau and Bret Mellin. North Farmington's team includes Josh Koch, Adam Tapper, Aaron Lesniak and Steven Kahn. In the DECA Quiz Bowl, competitors answer questions dealing with business, economics and marketing. Thirty-nine high school teams competed in Quiz Bowl at the 57th annual State Career Development Conference March 7-9 at the Hyatt Regency-Dearborn. A total of 2,000 students from 149 high schools and career centers participated in the three-day event. West Bloomfield's Landau also received honors for a top-10 finish in the econom- ic evaluation that was taken by more than 550 students. Also qualifying as individu- als for the international event in Florida were Josh Kaplan in retail merchandising, Tommy Nafso in food marketing and Albert Chen in technical marketing. West Bloomfield had 35 students on the DECA team and 16 were finalists. North Farmington took 20 competi- tors to Michigan DECA and had four event finalists: Marina Rubel in advertis- ing campaign, Josh Feinberg and Brian Rosenbaum in financial services manage- ment decision making and Jordan Goodwin in retail merchandising. Also qualifying for a third consecutive year were Irina Yudovich and Valerie Warner in travel and tourism manage- ment. Zach Yost and Brad Stulberg quali- fied in sports and entertainment manage- ment. North Farmington's Marina Rubel was elected district representative and will attend the leadership academy at interna- tionals. Mimi Jiang and Lindsey Scher will also participate in the leadership academy. Teens To Bowl Detroit Teen Connection members will bowl 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Langan's Norwest Bowl in Farmington Hills. Two games of bowling, rental shoes and refreshments cost $13 for members and $16 for first-time guests. Reservations are due Wednesday, April 2.
