As painful as it is to see Israel under siege, today

there are even more serious threats to her survival.

Israel's economy has all but collapsed. The poverty

rate is now 20%. One out of every four children,

almost 500,000 children, now live in poverty.

As hard as it is to picture children starving in Israel,

this is the reality today.

In Detroit's Partnership 2000 Region of the Central

Hunger is.

Galilee, teachers report that the extended-day

programs funded by our community have become

lifelines for children from impoverished homes. For

many of these children the hot lunches served at

school is their one balanced meal of the day

And tomorrow? Where will Israel's children be, if we

don't provide for them today? Please call. Email.
