oung adults from the metro-
Detroit area gathered on
Saturday night, February 15,
for the second "Unfettered"
series. Unfettered is sponsored by the
Frances and Joseph Fetter Fund, part
of Federation's Millennium Campaign.
The program's mission is to "encour-
age broad- based participation in
Jewish life by removing real and per-
ceived barriers to involvement."
The event, held at the DIA, featured
speaker Avraham Infeld, the current
Counsel for Jewish Affairs of Hillel, and
attracted more than 300 patrons. His
thought-provoking dialogue on the
topic of Jewish identity was discussed
long after the formal presentation con-
cluded. The group toured the DIA's
newly updated gallery and dined on
food from the Milk and Honey restau-
rant in West Bloomfield.
Co-chairs Geoff Kretchmer
Program chairs Geoff Kretchmer
and Nancy Siegel Heinrich worked
tirelessly with an incredible committee
to ensure the success of the event.
"The vision and generosity of the
Fetter family culminated in a first-
class event," says Kretchmer.
"The Rivera Court was a fabulous
setting for Unfettered at the DIA,
and the speaker, Avraham Infeld, was
captivating and offered the kind of
opportunity we were looking for," he
adds.
Julie Hazan, a guest at the event
and resident of Huntington Woods,
enjoyed the overall feel of Unfettered
and the venue. "The evening had a
nice combination of a festive social
event and a Jewish theme with a very
interesting speaker. It was a good way
to create a tie for people to the Jewish
community."
