he joy of parenthood begins at any age. Just ask
David and Elyse Foltyn, ages 47 and 44. The
Foltyns, of Birmingham, recently gave birth to twin
daughters, Abby and Lily. Now they have a total of
five children including Lindsay Foltyn, 18, Molly Foltyn, 14,
and Mara Essick, 15. (Mara, shown in the photo above, is hold-
ing the twins.)
David, an attorney with Honigman Miller Schwartz & Cohn,
and Elyse Essick, chief marketing officer of Munder Capital, are
part of a trend — having babies over 40. The birth of a baby (or
babies) is a wonderful event at any age.
Decorating the nursery is also exciting. Let me introduce you
to Amy Coe, who just landed a partnership with Target for her
collection of children's bedding and accessories.
To chronicle all those childhood memories meet Gail Rader of
Creative Pages Plus in Berkley. This new specialty store will show
you how to preserve your memories in a keepsake scrapbook.
To keep fit, how about yoga with baby? It's a great peace-
seeking and baby-bonding experience. Writer Lynne Schreiber
lets us peek inside this new baby and morn class.
And if babies are not in your life at the moment, we have a
story about cars. Read about Mollie Rattner Engel, an automo-
tive designer specializing in color and materials for Ford.
