Federation Begins
Campaign Count
The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Annual
Campaign closing drive, Campaign
Countdown, will kick off with a
community-wide phonathon on
Sunday, March 30, 12:30 to 3:30
p.m., at the Max. M. Fisher
Federation Building in Bloomfield
Township. The event will be held
with the support of corporate part-
ner General Motors.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, March
31, through Thursday, April 3, vol-
unteers will make calls to secure
pledges and encourage new gifts to
Federation's 2003 Annual campaign.
In addition, solicitations will be
made for donations to the Grand
Challenge Israel Emergency Fund in
direct response to dire needs in Israel
at this time.
Susie Pappas co-chairs the event
with Ben Rosenthal.
At each calling session, a brief
training and a light meal will be pro-
vided for volunteers. Once again this
year, Federation's partner agencies,
schools and congregations will "com-
pete" for the Golden Phone Award
for soliciting the highest percent
increase of gifts to the campaign
from their respective organizations.
Following Campaign Countdown,
decisions will be made on how cam-
paign dollars will be allocated to
Federation agencies. For information
or to volunteer for Campaign
Countdown phonathon sessions, call
Lisa Cutler, (248) 203-1458.
