Aids Yad Ezra

The Jea-nette and Harry Goldberg
Thanksgiving Baskets Inc. has made a
donation of $10,000 to Yad Ezra's
endowment fund in support of the
Berkley-based kosher food pantry's
mission.
As a tribute to their parents' legacy,
the Goldbergs' children initiated a
family mitzvah project. In 1980, they
began assembling and distributing
Thanksgiving baskets to needy fami-
lies in the community from daughter
Lois' garage. After a number of years,
the children and grandchildren
teamed up with Jewish Family Service
and Yad Ezra to increase the distribu-
tion of kosher turkeys, fresh produce,
canned goods and extra groceries. Last
year, their efforts provided over 125
impoverished families with
Thanksgiving necessities.
The yearly program continues with
the support of Harry and Jeanette's
family, friends and the community.
The family decided that an endow-
ment gift to Yad Ezra was an appro-
priate way to further pay tribute to
Harry and Jeanette's legacy.
